Kittens — Haiku

three kittens play
jumping around the garden
as ants fly away

Tiny Mesa

black cracks in red mud
we examine each geometry
focus on the top
that little bowl of bicolored dry
with a dicot sprout coming up in the middle
green on grey on red tiny mesa
a juniper bush to a fingernail scorpion briefly stranded
we imagine

Corrode

alone, erase every trace
every thought of love
we are banned from comfort's grace
as kindness from a dove
we will not crave an mate's embrace
no, not for us this road
we've tried too many times, it hurts
we'd rather just corrode

Love

Lust is a starving murderer
love is a dying child
one struggling for survival
one feral, filthy and wild
no reflection on the earth
this soulless creature divides
cackles at agony with mirth
and within us all resides

Brushins

a cat's loose fur is infinite
the brushing continues eternal
this one at least is into it
dealing with the others is infernal!

Teapot

like a lacework icicle in spring we melt, drip drip
fragile and changing form from crystal to something more
fluid
smooth transition this is a point
trick memory mid breakdown from which we can rejoin
ourself
teapot

Wooden Spoon

 licking the batter before the lash
"Haldt za moyel!" the wooden spoon
shifts from booty into our doom
"za Klipttzein Arshtrotten!" her stuttering shoes
clip-clopping furiously to our room
"No mom, please!"
we split as the breeze hits the back of our knees
